Commercial Photo & Film Policy

Need a permit to photograph or film at City Park?

A City Park Photography Permit is required for any photographer shooting commercial individual/bridal/family photos in City Park including the confines of the Botanical Garden.
The permit fee is $50 per session and is valid for one day. If inclement weather prohibits your session, a rain date can be re-scheduled. (If inclement weather prohibits your session, a rain date must be re-scheduled within 30 days.) No refunds will be issued.  It is best to call or email ahead of time to schedule a session.

-In Person: Visit the City Park Administration Building (1 Palm Drive). The City Park Administration office is open Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm or the New Orleans Botanical Garden gift shop during the hours of operation: 7 days a week from 10am to 5pm.

Please note: There are no designated areas for brides to change clothing. Photography inside the amusement park and at Popp Fountain is prohibited. City Park reserves the right to restrict access to certain areas without notice.

New Orleans Museum of Art / Sculpture Garden
City Park and Botanical Garden photo permits do not extend to the use of the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden or the front portico/steps of the New Orleans Museum of Art. If you would like to take photographs in these areas, you must purchase a separate permit through the New Orleans Museum of Art.

Film/Television Photography Permits
Location fees, location contracts, and a Certificate of Liability are required for all commercial film projects, including but not limited to, television production, commercial advertising, reality TV shows, movie production, web video, documentary films. City Park offers 1,300 acres of great outdoor space for exercise ñ for you and your pooch. But remember to keep your dog on a leash. Itís the law!
